7billionideas partners with NTLT to launch #TyneTogether 2017

On the 9th January 2017, 7billionideas will be kicking off a regional competition with the education body, North Tyneside Learning Trust. We shall be visiting 18 schools in 5 days and proudly launching #TyneTogether2017 for the first time.

#TyneTogether2017 is an ideas competition for the Key Stage 1 and 2 students across the trust. Students will generate and develop ideas that could change the world. The ideas could be about absolutely anything, as long as the idea has a positive impact. If it makes the world healthier, it counts. If it makes the world smile, it counts. If it makes the world work better, it counts.

Over a 6 week period, students will work in teams of 3 of their ideas. They will create posters, models and presentations to help explain their idea and their passion for it. Eventually, 1 team from each school will be chosen and will go through to the first ever #TyneTogether2017 final. Why have we called it #TyneTogether? Because we want to bring together the students of North Tyneside together and challenge them to see how they would change the world.

Kehri Ellis, Chief Executive, North Tyneside Learning Trust, said: “North Tyneside Learning Trust is delighted to be working with 7billionideas to launch #TyneTogether2017. I am confident that the children across Trust primary schools will develop world changing ideas as part of this competition. I am incredibly excited about meeting our talented young entrepreneurs when they showcase their case their world changing ideas at the grand final on 14 March 2017. Good luck everyone.”

David Harkin, CEO, 7billionideas, said: “We can’t wait to kick off 2017 in style by visiting the schools of NTLT and launching #TyneTogether2017. We know the students will generate a variety of world changing ideas which will be linked to multiple topics, including sport, fashion, politics and technology. We’re excited to see the entrepreneurial spirit in every student be unlocked by this competition and can’t wait to work with the schools of North Tyneside.”

Roll on the roadshow and a successful competition with North Tyneside Learning Trust.
