Meet the WOW Team

The Trust employs 2 WOW Project Leads whose role it is to manage, organise and deliver the WOW offer to all Trust Partner Schools to develop positive and meaningful careers interventions and initiatives which broaden the knowledge and understanding of children and young people about the world of work.

The WOW Project Leads’ role is to:

  • Support effective planning of the CEIAG curriculum with clear learning outcomes and progressions for all year groups
  • Support schools to meet their statutory duty in relation to careers education
  • Support initiatives already happening within Trust Partner Schools
  • Develop new initiatives and opportunities in partnership with Trust Partner Schools
  • Be responsible for ensuring all resources are prepared and maintained.
  • Ensure that all resources are held centrally on the shared area or in a shared drive for all staff to access
  • Be a link for Trust Partner Schools to businesses and companies to promote the World of Work
  • Promote initiatives linked to the World of Work that enable careers education at all phases and ages across Trust Partner Schools
  • Create and manage relationships between employer partners and schools, organising careers events
  • Support a network of Careers Leaders.

 

 

Angie Patterson was appointed as Secondary (ages 12-18) World of Work (WOW) Project Lead in November 2015. Angie’s main focus is providing support to Careers Leads within the high, middle and SEN schools and liaising with businesses to promote different sectors, industries and opportunities. Previous to this she worked as a STEM Learning Manager at Norham High School, providing cover for lessons and supporting students with intervention – predominantly in Maths and Technology and overseeing STEM activities within the school. Prior to her time at Norham, Angie worked for 10 years at Sage Software UK Ltd and her roles included Technical Support Coach and Technical Support Team Leader. Angie has a BSc(Hons) in European Health Sciences.
