About

The National STEM Centre has teamed up with schools and learning centres around the country to develop several Science Learning Partnerships. North Tyneside Learning Trust forms part of the collaboration for the North East Hub.

We offer comprehensive science CPD programmes for science teachers, technicians and teaching assistants across the region. Our CPD leaders are drawn from experienced educational consultants, practising teachers and partners across the region.

Much of the work we do is direct with schools, colleges, networks, clusters and alliances. This activity can be through bespoke programmes of CPD, or single courses run for your department or cluster.

These partnerships are very exciting and will see us finding and developing expertise in schools to deliver subject specific CPD to meet local or specialised needs.

As part of the SLP we offer bursaries (known as Impact Awards and provided by the Department for Education) for many of our CPD activities. These bursaries can be used to contribute towards covering the cost of CPD fees, expenses and resources.

Steering group

The Science Learning Partnership is a collaboration between schools and CPD providers, designed to serve the needs of schools in our local area. To get the most out of your local Science Learning Partnership, shape course provision in your borough and guide future science strategy, teachers, SLT and technicians are invited to join the steering group. Meetings are once each term. To sign up or learn more please email Louise Maule by clicking here.
