North Tyneside Learning Trust is once again delighted to showcase the remarkable artistic talent of our children and young people through our annual “A Splash of Colour” exhibition. This year’s theme, “light,” has inspired a diverse and captivating collection of artwork, now on display across eight venues within North Tyneside..
“A Splash of Colour” provides a valuable platform to celebrate the creativity and hard work of our students. The open interpretation of “light” has encouraged a wide range of artistic responses, demonstrating both technical skill and imaginative thinking across various mediums.
Visitors to the exhibition locations will encounter thought-provoking light photography, with some pieces clearly influenced by artists such as David Gilliver, capturing the beauty of natural and artificial illumination. The paintings on display offer a spectrum of approaches, from the detailed precision of pointillism to expressive explorations of how light and shadow interact.
Spanning eight locations, “A Splash of Colour” shows the depth of artistic talent present within our North Tyneside Learning Trust schools. This initiative is an important opportunity to provide our young artists with the experience of displaying their work publicly, fostering confidence and encouraging their continued engagement with the arts.
To offer a glimpse into the inspiring artwork on display, we’re created a short video but the best way to appreciate the work is to visit the different venues.
