Katrina Moffat, Project Manager within the Trust Core Team, has had the honour and privilege of being invited to the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Saturday 6th May 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Katrina who serves as a Foundation Trust Governor at both Wallsend Jubilee Primary School and George Stephenson High school received a British Empire Medal (BEM) last year for her voluntary service both with the Girlguiding and as a governor in Trust schools.
News of the invitation was featured on national television during the Easter break when Katrina was invited on to BBC Breakfast and Sky News to talk about her volunteering work and the surprise invitation to the coronation that followed.
It is an incredibly rare honour and privilege to receive such an invitation and an incredibly proud moment for Katrina. It is absolutely thrilling for the Trust to have a member of the core team attending such a high profile, prestigious event and coverage of the momentous occasion will be shared with schools through the Trust newsletter along with pictures after the event.
