NTLT Eco Awards
The NTLT Eco Awards recognise and celebrate the commitment of our schools to sustainability, environmental responsibility and positive change. They provide a flexible framework for schools to embed eco-friendly thinking into everyday practice in a way that works for their setting.
Two award pathways
Schools can take part through one of two routes:
- NTLT Eco Award: Designed for schools that are new to the Eco Awards or beginning their sustainability journey.
- NTLT Eco Commitment Award: For schools that have previously taken part and are continuing to demonstrate a long term commitment to sustainability through ongoing action, deeper understanding and leadership.
How it works
We know that schools are busy, so the Eco Awards are designed to be manageable, adaptable and inclusive.
Schools complete a small number of eco-focused activities across a range of themed areas, choosing those that are most relevant to their pupils, priorities and context. Activities can involve small groups, whole classes or the wider school community.
To achieve an award, schools submit simple evidence to show what they have done. This might include photographs, examples of pupil work, quotes, or screenshots of communications.
Evidence and timescales
- Schools provide at least two pieces of evidence per activity
- Evidence is submitted via a shared folder set up for each participating school
- Evidence submission deadline: 19 June 2026
