Feedback from previous governor training sessions has highlighted that the roles of Chair and Vice Chair can often be isolating, we want to provide you with an opportunity to collaborate and share good practice, building up a supportive network to help you and your Governing body.
Our first session is taking place on Wednesday 22 November from 5.30-6.30pm via Zoom. It will be led by Hilary Harrison, Chair of Governors at Woodlawn School and the focus for the session is Roles and Relationships. We know that Governing bodies have a Chair and Vice Chair and often have Committee Chairs, as well as Link Governor roles, we want to explore how these support the effectiveness of the Governing body, the importance of the relationship with the Headteacher and the Clerk and how governor recruitment/retention and succession planning are all linked.
This isn't a training session, it's an opportunity in an informal setting to share practice and experiences through breakout rooms and small group discussions followed by coming back together as one group to share feedback.
Please pass on this invitation to your Vice Chair and email Jacqui Sugden to register your place on the session.
This session will take place via Zoom and attendees will be sent the link after booking.
